Rocket Launch

We changed our schedule around a little bit so that we could do something special later. For Jesus time this morning we talked about the story of Noah's Ark. The students got to help move the animals into the ark.
This morning while we were outside we got to see the 8th Grade rocket launch. The 8th graders work in teams to make a bottle rocket from a liter bottle. They put in water and use air pressure to propel into the air.

Some of us really liked watching the rockets go high into the air

After snack we go to play in Mrs. Hoehner's room. Mrs. Helmkamp was able to use this special time to do some 1 on 1 assessments.

During small groups we one center used small blocks to make patterns. I was able to work with each student to help them build a new pattern.

Another group pretended to be giants as we sorted mini apples into piles with tweezers. Tweezers are a fun way for us to practice and strengthen our finger muscles for writing.

Our last group used pictures of different block towers to try to build their own. Some of the pictures required students to work hard to figure out how to make it on their own.
