This week in Jesus time we are learning about Baby Moses. We learned that God protected Baby Moses and kept him safe even though the bad King Pharaoh wanted to kill all the baby boys. Moses and his mother got to go live in the palace with the princess.
The girls had a picnic this morning!
Using the wood pieces to make the letters
It was very foggy this morning. We decided to stay up on the big playgrounds since in just a few more weeks it will be gone during construction.
We enjoyed playing with the other classes on the playground.
During center time today we practiced our letters in the sand. It was fun to write them in the sand.
We drew pictures of our school building. Late we will make observational drawings.
Since we talked about Baby Moses floating in the river we decided to find things in our classroom that sink and float as well.

We were the first to the playground today. So we enjoyed being playing with just our class.
Scooping up rocks in the house
The signs have been a hit. We enjoy carrying them around and making them stand up in the rocks.
Kicking the ball with Mrs. Schilling
Andrew Nelson, the Director of Family Life and Youth at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, led our chapel. We played "Andrew Says" (Simon Says) and learned how the disciples followed what Jesus said. We learned that we follow the words of important people like our parents, teachers, and pastors, and especially the words of Jesus!
We completed a VoiceThread to show what we learned about Zion last week.

What was your favorite part of making Mat Man at home? Making the hands. Making it with Mommy
If you could give mat Man a name, what would it be? Alice (because he's a girl) or maybe it's mat Man's wife
The girls started their morning in the writing center
This morning we continued our story about Joseph. I drew the story as the students helped me to recall details. We talked about how Joseph and his mom and dad were happy but how Joseph's brothers were sad and jealous of him.
We learned another new song today that is from our Handwriting without Tears CD, Where Do You Start Your Letters?... at the top
We also worked on a VoiceThread to share and what we learned about Zion last week. We will continue to add to our VoiceThread tomorrow to complete it.
By the end of center time today all of the students were playing together in the block center.
