The Bible Tells Me So Show

This morning we went to see, "The Bible Tells Me So Show," performed by the 1st-3rd graders. They did such a great job sining and acting! Their final performance is Friday night in the church at 6:30 PM.

A few of our students are headed to kindergarten this year. We tiptoed into into Mrs. Lail and Miss Limback's classrooms to see what kindergarten is like.

We made observations in on our clipboards.

During free play time we continued to work on our Mother's Day gifts.

We enjoy playing in our knights helmets and crowns.

Planting Grass

This morning we drew silly faces on put them on the jars of grass seed that we planted. When the grass seed grows it will look like the hair of our silly person.

We enjoyed being outside with the other preschoolers.

Mrs. Stanglein helped us be friends with the neighbor's dogs.

The girls worked with some of Mrs. Hoehner's class to make a pie of flowers.

We also worked on part of our Mother's Day gifts.

We were excited to read our "May There Always Be Sunshine" books. It was fun to be a able to read the words on the pages and sing the song together.

Planting seeds

This morning we planted grass seed. First we drew funny faces on stickers to put on our jars so that when the grass grows it looks like hair. Over the next week we will water them and watch as the grass begins to sprout.

Working together to accomplish a common goal. Nice work girls!

In Jesus time this morning we finished watching "The Jesus Movie." We watched the last scenes about our story from last week where the disciples were fishing and then the Great Commission. This week we will talk about Jesus sending the disciples out to make disciples of all nations. We will talk about being disciples and sharing Jesus' story with others.

During free choice time we worked on a special present for Mother's day.

We also worked on our knights helmets and fitted our crowns.

At the end of the day we were excited to see our "May There Always Be Sunshine" books.  We read them together and sang our song. We are so excited to take them home next week along with our recording.

Paper Mache

This morning we acted out the story of the disciples fishing and Jesus appearing to them after His resurrection. He told the disciples to cast their nets on the other side of the boat, even though they hadn't caught anything all night. They he made breakfast for them.

During small groups we worked on cutting our our crowns. It was very challenging to cut the zig-zag lines. Some of us could do it by ourselves others needed more help. (Those who made their crowns yesterday working on a cutting project for next week.

We also used our watercolors to paint pictures

We finished coloring our pictures for our "May There Always Be Sunshine" books. They are printing as I type and we will get to use them next week as we continue to practice singing our song before we record it.

During free play time we got to add up to 10 jewels to our crowns to make them very fancy.
Some of us also got to work on making paper mache knights helmets. A few students did not really like to get their hands messy in the flour water.

Crowns

Mrs. Helmkamp brought in a book from home that helps teach how to draw different race vehicles. Nicholas was excited to draw the monster truck.

Painting tulips. We had to follow 3 steps.
1. draw the vase
2. draw the stems
3. paint the flowers

We had a fun new toy to try outside (I found it at Schnucks in the outdoor section). It took lots of coordination and partnership to get it to work.

We had chapel today led by the Student Council.

They taught us about letting God's light shine in the darkness. We even learned a fun rhyme.
Flashlight, flashlight, shine so bright.
Shine like Jesus, and his might

During our small groups we cut out crowns. It was very tricky cutting and good practice for us to learn how to turn the paper as we cut.

We also drew pictures for our "May There Always be Sunshine" book. We are practicing singing the song everyday so that we can record it soon and have our own copy.

We got to add up to 10 jewels to our crowns. They are very fancy!
We started using paper mache to make helmets so that we dress up like knights. Only a few students got started today but we will continue tomorrow and next week.
