Large Motor in the Commons

As you may have noticed we have turned our dramatic play center into a Doctors office. Over the next few weeks we will be doing a project on Doctors/Hospital. Throughout the project we will investigate what goes on in the doctors office and find answers for questions we have about going to the doctor. Our small groups will also help us learn more about doctors and will be medical themed.

In our first small group we used word cards and had to clothes pin to match the letters for each word. We worked on the words: DOCTOR, NURSE, and BANDAID

We used letter cards and bandaids to create all the letters of the alphabet.

With Mrs. Schilling students drew pictures of things that they know about the Doctors office.

With Mrs. Helmkamp we made a web of all the things we know about going to the Doctor. Making a web about what we know about a topic is part of Phase I of the project. Phase I helps us define our project and guides our learning for the next phase. Throughout this week and next we will:
  • Find out what we know about doctors
  • Make a list of questions we would like to answer during our research
  • We will talk about how we are going to find our answers
