Preparing for Christmas

Thank you everyone for understanding and being flexible this morning! I think the kids who were here at or before 8 AM quite enjoyed playing in Mrs. Douglas' room.

 Playing in the Commons for Large Motor Time

 We read Merry Christmas, Splat and talked about getting ready for Christmas.

We made a list of the ways we get ready for Christmas

 In our small groups we used forks and spoons to make Christmas trees

We also spelled our names on ornaments and then compared the length of each others names. We talked about why some names were longer and why others were shorter. Then we made a giant tree with all of our names

 Another group used small beads to put ornaments on Christmas trees based on the number that was on the star.

In the gym we danced to the Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey, and Bunny Hop
