There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Pie

Free playtime

Some of our friends had a great time playing with little cubes and made a huge mess to clean up

Outside time

We read the book the "Little Old Lady who Swallowed a Pie" in our large group time. In small groups we cut out pictures from food magazines to make our own versions.

We used dried beans to make follow designs. This center hekps ups practice our fine motor skills and strengthen our pincer grip

In our Large group time we also looked at a few pictures from magazines and tried to decided what was happening in the picture. We used one of the pictures to write a story. Each student had to continue the story with one sentence. Continuing a story helps us work on our language development as we think about what someone else has written and try to make our sentence continue the story.

We also painted paper with watercolors. We will use our paintings to make the Red Sea to go with our Bible story of Moses parting the Red Sea.

In Jesus time we watched a short video to learn the story of Moses parting the Red Sea

After Jesus time we took a walk to the other side of the cemetery to play in the leaves. We had fun throwing the leaves and gathering sticks.
