2011 Theme: STEP INTO READING…

This is a special week for our young
children at Zion Lutheran School. This is the week that we celebrate them! We celebrate the wonderful qualities that God has given to them and we thank God that He has blessed us all with these wonderful children! There will be special activities and dress up days during this week to help us celebrate. Please email Sara Kuhlmann at skuhlmann@zionharvester.org if you have any questions. Zion’s Early Childhood staff is excited to share this week with you and your child(ren)!

Come sit with other Early Childhood families and worship as a group at any of the 3 services listed above. We will sit together on the far left side of Zion’s sanctuary. There will be te

Thursday, April 14th-Balanced Literacy Night

Come at 7 p.m. to Zion’s Church Basement to hear all about Zion’s new reading curriculum that will start next year in our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classes. Mrs. Heather Masa, Zion’s Literacy Coach, will be presenting information about this new curriculum. Parents, you won’t want to miss this night! Even if your child will not be in K-2 next year, please come and check out what exciting changes will be happening next year at Zion! For planning purposes, please email Sara Kuhlmann (skuhlmann@zionharvester.org) if you are planning to attend.

Saturday, April 16th- Family Fun Walk/Picnic, Zion’s Soccer Field

Meet us at 10:30 a.m. at Zion for a fun morning! Park in the front parking lot of the church/main school building and head on back to the soccer field. We will have a designated trail marked out on Zion’s campus for families to complete. After completing the trail, each family will be presented with a children’s book courtesy of Scholastic Books, which they will then sign and donate to Sparrow’s Nest, a local non-profit maternity home for young women that is run by Carissa Figgins, a Zion Preschool mom. After the walk is completed, all families will have the opportunity to join other families in a picnic on the soccer field. All families will need to bring a blanket and a picnic lunch for their own family. In case of rain, the Family Walk and Picnic will be canceled! No reservations are necessary.
